Like Nate, I did not have much confidence in KU beating UNC on Saturday night. The way NC had been playing and the fact that KU beat a #10 seed (Davidson) by just two points in the previous game made me believe that NC had a distinct advantage.
Having said that, I could not believe what I was seeing in the first half on Saturday night. I have NEVER seen the Jayhawks play better basketball. I have always questioned Self and how he prepared his team for big games, but no more. Building a 28 point FIRST HALF lead agianst the overall #1 seed was almost too good to be true.
As for tonight, I am a little more confident. Memphis is a very good team with two top lottery picks and size on the inside but I have to take KU based on Saturday.

Are going to get some predictions on the games? I can make arguments in all directions so I am going to stick with my bracket. UCLA and NC with UCLA cutting the nets down on Monday. So hawkers, you going to stick your neck out and make any guarantee's? And don't give me any of that "it depends on how Self coaches" crap.

Self to Okie St

Sean Sutton is stepping down (forced resignation) at Ok St. Doug Gottlieb reported #1 booster wants alum Bill Self to come back. Reportedly Self says its a non story (what would you expect him to say)? After Davidson's final fling fell short, did you see Self? That was not a man excited to be at the F4? That was a man relieved to live another day? In my opinion, the guy is feeling it and his quotes over the past few weeks are proving that. I also don't think simply making it to the F4 will quiet the beakers. You look at this rumor and you first thought is it's absurd. ON the other hand, some people don't like to live with pressure and maybe's there's a chance Self doesn't want to put up with unhealthy expectations for the rest of his life. Beakers, weigh in??
By the way, if I were a head coach, I would gladly have a 25-50% pay difference for complete peace of mind. Whats Self making, Gottlieb through out the number of $4 mill a year. This would be an easier move if it weren't in-conference.
