Sean Sutton is stepping down (forced resignation) at Ok St. Doug Gottlieb reported #1 booster wants alum Bill Self to come back. Reportedly Self says its a non story (what would you expect him to say)? After Davidson's final fling fell short, did you see Self? That was not a man excited to be at the F4? That was a man relieved to live another day? In my opinion, the guy is feeling it and his quotes over the past few weeks are proving that. I also don't think simply making it to the F4 will quiet the beakers. You look at this rumor and you first thought is it's absurd. ON the other hand, some people don't like to live with pressure and maybe's there's a chance Self doesn't want to put up with unhealthy expectations for the rest of his life. Beakers, weigh in??
By the way, if I were a head coach, I would gladly have a 25-50% pay difference for complete peace of mind. Whats Self making, Gottlieb through out the number of $4 mill a year. This would be an easier move if it weren't in-conference.

I agree that Self looked horrible after the win. But, I'm not sure if he leaves that he would want to go to Lawrence every other year.
But this wouldn't surprise me for the simple reason that the Kansas City Star ran a feature a few weeks ago on when Self fell in love with KU and left his feelings for the pokes behind.
It's not like coaching at Oklahoma State would be a non-pressure gig. I'm sure they have boosters who like winning as well.....
Ok St. #1 booster is none other than T. Boone Pickens who will probably have no problem spending $4M a year on a coach if it means a successful program.

This news was buzzing around my school today. I guess Gillespie is the highest paid coach at 2.75? mill. And the offer to bring Self to Okie St would be 4 mill. I'm not sure that Bernie can keep up with T.Boone Pickens.
