Very excited! Didn't start watching the show until the last 6 months or so. My wife and I caught up on the first 3 seasons by watching them online. Can't wait to see where they take the show from here.....
So what did you guys think? As I suspected, the next 3 seasons will be filled with the future, rather than flashbacks. I can't remember all of my theories from last summer, but I still believe Jack's dad is alive and gets with Kate. This Jacob plot scares the crap out of me. Any thoughts on who he may be?
All of the comments I have read from Thursday's LOST episode have been positive. As in usual LOST fashion more questions were created than answered; 1. Who are the other three members of the 'Oceanic 6'? 2. When Hurley says 'it' wants us back, what is 'it'? 3. Who was visiting Hurley in the psych. ward, why was he asking if 'they' were still alive?
I have been thinking about the TV significance of LOST since Thursday and I believe that this series ranks with The Sopranos and Seinfeld as the best TV shows of our generation. Yes, I realize there have only been 3+ seasons and there is still plenty of opportunity for the show to go downhill (as it was trying to do in Season 2) but the show fills a huge void in TV with all of the nonsense reality programming today.

My guesses of the Oceanic 6
We already know:
1. Hurley
2. Jack
3. Kate
Heres who I think
4. Desmond - Really really wants off and can see the future.
5. Sayiid - He's smart and a survivor.
6. Sun - Jin will probably be killed off so Sun will probably return to
Heres who I think definetely won't be getting off
- Locke
- Rose and her husband
- Do we count Ben? He aint leavin.
I think that Claire will probably be sucked into some sort of thing with her baby and not be able to return.
I'm also not sure about Sawyer and Juliet. Juliet's story seems so boring that I'm not sure they will keep her arpund much longer.
Chris,
Great point. LOST also lends credibility back to network television as a creative source for television drama.
I think if you took the time to watch, you would really appreciate HBO's THE WIRE as well.
Give it a shot.
