Monday Thoughts....

* I will not touch on the current economic situation as Gouk did a great job of analyzing the situation in the post directly below this one.

*I heard the Oscar nominations this morning and have two recommendations for movies that are nominated for Best Picture. No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood are both excellent movies! Nate has been on the Daniel Day Lewis bandwagon for quite some time and he delivered in Blood big time. I am not sure that any other actor could have pulled of that type of performance as Lewis's facical expressions and voice tone were mesmerizing in certain scenes. The same can be said of Javier Bardem (sp?) in No Country.

* The Pats/Chargers game was a bore (Philip Rivers is still a bitch even though he played with one ACL) but the Packers/Giants game was one of the more entertaining football games I have watched in recent memory. The fact it was -4, the game was played at Lambeau field, Brett Farve and it was the NFC championship game were all the ingredients for a classic.

* MU/KU was entertaining! I realize that this is MUs Super Bowl (outside of the annual home NIT game) but I was impressed with the effort the Tigers put forth. KU has not been challenged lately and MU put them to the test as the game was in doubt late into the second half. The officials called the game waaayyy to tight which resulted in numerous trips to the FT line which BTW is the Jayhawks Achilles heel. I can see missing from the FT line costing the 'Hawks in March.

The Oscars stink. Its more political now than it has ever been.

I agree. Being able to see the breath of every player on the field was amazing. Carrie got mad at me as I said it every time the teams lined up for the play.

I think the Chargers comments after the game were more entertaining than their actual play. GROW UP! Just like last year, YOU LOST! DEAL WITH IT! Don't point fingers. Don't call the other team cheaters.

If you were impressed with the Tigers effort you should have watched the MU-Texas game. They played well along with their good efforts.

How many times did KU go to teh line? 45 times? Of course I wouldn't know as I dont have ESPNU.
