MU Recruiting

For all you Tiger Fans its good to see Pinkel and Co. winning some recruiting wars. In case you haven't heard, they gained a few nice recruits today. DeSmet WR Wes Kemp switched his verbal from Wisconsin to MU last evening. In addition, a former DeSmet Spartan DB Munir Prince is leaving Notre Dame, will sit out the 2008 season and join The Tigers in 2009 with two years of eligibility. And in late breaking news, 4 Star OL Recruit from Iowa, Dan Hoch, has just committed to play at MU this fall. Throw in one Blaine QB this year and another Blaine QB in 09 and things are looking good for years to come for Mizzouuuuuuuuu.

Also like the fact that Coffman, Daniel, Hood, Sulak and Moore are all definitely returning for their senior seasons after briefly testing the NFL waters.

Rip, any word on Temple's attempt at a 5th year of eligibility?

No I haven't heard anything. Here's a conspiracy theory I heard. Obviously if he was fighting for a 5th year he thought he wasn't going to be drafted. With the impressive game he had at The Cotton Bowl, maybe he caught the eye of enough scouts to justify a 2nd day selection?? Wouldn't it be a weird situtation if he was granted his 5th year and then went to the draft? Though Temple has some great games, at times he really got on my nerves. He never really understood the concept of staying in bounds when your team has a big lead in the 4th quarter. In his last 2 bowl games he has had huge games, the team has had huge leads, and he still continued to run out of bounds in the 4th quarter.
On another note, his little bro is a 3 star recruit. I wan't to see what Washington can do as the featured back

I always follow recruiting with my rivals account but I never get too up or down over it because the system that the recruiting services are quite biased. If any groups of fans should ignore rankings it should be Mizzou, KU and Nebraska. MU and KU finished in the top ten with out a single recruiting class in the top 25 and Nebraska who had a top five recuiting class has just hired Bo Pelini.

No doubt that a Top-25 Recruiting Class and $1.25 will barely get you a vending machine soda. But if I'm Mizzou, I definitely take my chances with finally being included on the list.
